AVIATION

With increasing connectivity and globalization, a Make in India Achievement Report states that India is the 9th largest civil aviation market in the world, and is among the 5 fastest growing aviation markets globally.

The growth of the sector is being propelled by the development of airports, presence of several low-cost carriers, a liberalized FDI policy, increasing adoption of information technology and focus on improving regional connectivity. Niti Aayog is presently suggesting the privatization of civil airlines Air India and promote FDI opportunities in the aviation sector to turn it into an even more profitable industry.

The aviation ministry has described a detailed plan for 30 new airports in the country in the next 15 years, like in Lucknow, Varanasi and Gorakhpur.

Uttar Pradesh, as a state of rich culture and heritage and various UNESCO sites, has been identified as one of the key states for development in the aviation and tourism sector. By inviting global airline companies like Etihad, Air Asia, Airbus and Boeing, the EODB flagship programme #RadiantUP aims to invite 100 CEO’s from the aviation sector for the selection of the 10 best projects under this industry. They will be provided with single window clearances and steady clearance facilitations.

The tourism ministry has underlined Ayodhya, Agra, Mathura-Vrindavan-Govardhan, Varanasi-Sarnath and Gorakhpur to be developed in the Incredible India 2.0 program, promoting their spirituality quotient and tapping their medical and wellness potential.

The new Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University at Fursatganj, Rae Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh hopes to launch several management courses to develop skills in various aspects of the aviation industry.
