Shri. Akhilesh Srivastava

Shri. Akhilesh Srivastava is a globally recognized technology leader, infrastructure strategist, and digital transformation expert with over three decades of experience in intelligent transportation systems, e-governance, infrastructure technology, and smart mobility solutions. Widely known for leading the implementation of FASTag, India’s electronic toll collection system, he has played a transformative role in modernizing the country’s highway and transportation ecosystem through technology-driven innovation.

Formerly serving as Chief General Manager at the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Mr. Srivastava led several flagship digital initiatives, including FASTag, AI-powered highway data systems, geo-fencing of highways, e-tendering platforms, digital project management systems, and citizen-centric mobility applications. He also introduced advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, drones, GIS, LiDAR, and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) within India’s highway infrastructure sector.

Beyond government leadership, he currently serves as Advisor and Member to several national and international organizations focused on mobility, road safety, digital governance, and infrastructure innovation. He is the Road Safety Ambassador at the International Road Federation (IRF) and serves as President of the ITS India Forum, contributing to the advancement of intelligent transportation systems and smart mobility ecosystems in India.

Akhilesh Srivastava contributes strategic expertise in smart mobility, intelligent transportation systems, digital infrastructure, and AI-driven highway technologies. His work supports the development of future-ready and technology-enabled mobility ecosystems in India.
