Shri. Sajid Mubashir is a distinguished scientist and technology leader with extensive experience in automotive innovation, electric mobility, and strategic research management. As Scientist G in the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, he has played a significant role in shaping the country’s research and development ecosystem for next-generation transportation technologies and sustainable mobility solutions.
He has been actively involved in the formulation and implementation of nationally coordinated research programmes that foster collaboration between government, industry, academia, and research institutions. His work focuses on accelerating innovation through Public-Private Partnership (PPP-R&D) models, enabling the development of advanced technologies across battery systems, charging infrastructure, vehicle integration, electrical components, and manufacturing processes.
Previously serving as Member (R&D) at the National Automotive Board (NAB), Department of Heavy Industries, Shri. Mubashir contributed to several landmark initiatives aimed at strengthening India’s indigenous automotive technology capabilities. He has also been associated with major programmes such as the Collaborative Automotive R&D (CAR) Programme and the Home Grown Technology (HGT) Programme, supporting technology commercialisation and innovation-led industrial growth.
As a Member of the NHEV Knowledge Group, he continues to provide strategic guidance on emerging mobility technologies, sustainable transportation ecosystems, and research-driven innovation, contributing to India’s transition toward cleaner, smarter, and future-ready mobility solutions.
